Career Exploration

Career exploration begins with career information. Choosing a major, pursuing an internship, attending events, and joining student organizations are all pieces of the puzzle.

Before jumping into any one decision, be sure that you know your options and a plan of action for your undergraduate years. Download the 4-Year Career Development Plan and schedule a brainstorming session with your advisor or Career Services.

Assessment

Understanding your interests, skills, values and personality is essential to career exploration and planning. A good career decision is made by considering many aspects of who you are; including your strengths, interests, skills, values and personality. A variety of types of assessments are listed here to measure these traits. You are looking for a “fit” between who you are and the career or major you choose

Not every assessment works for every person. But, if you take a variety of assessments you begin to see a pattern. That pattern is what we are looking for. Listed here are tools you could use to get more information about yourself.
