Scholarship Opportunities That Support Your Education

Located in Baton Rouge and one of the nation’s most affordable private Catholic institutions, Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady University is proud to offer several scholarships to incoming students. FranU awards scholarships in the form of tuition exemptions to students meeting certain academic qualifications.Incoming freshmen scholarships are awarded primarily on the basis of standardized test scores and high school GPA. Upon admission to the University, students will also be automatically considered for the Presidential, Dean’s, Catholic Advantage and Tau Transfer scholarships. All scholarships at FranU are competitive.

Institutional Scholarships


FRANCISCAN SCHOLARSHIP

This prestigious scholarship is awarded to five entering freshmen who have demonstrated outstanding academic performance and leadership skills in high school, and show promise of continuing such performance at the university and beyond. Students who are admitted to Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady University and meet the following minimum criteria may apply for consideration.

  • High School GPA of 3.5 or better
  • ACT Composite score of 24 or SAT Composite score of 1180

Candidates will be evaluated based on their academic credentials, leadership and activity record, and essay. Recipients are offered a scholarship package valued at the cost of tuition and fees for up to eight semesters. Continued scholarship eligibility is contingent upon a 3.0 GPA and service to the University through various activities. Apply here.

BOARD OF TRUSTEES SCHOLARSHIP

This prestigious scholarship is awarded to one entering freshman who has demonstrated outstanding academic performance and leadership skills in high school, and shows promise of continuing such performance in college and beyond. Students who are admitted to Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady University and meet the following minimum criteria may apply for consideration.

  • High School GPA of 3.0 or better
  • ACT Composite score of 21 or SAT Composite score of 1080

Candidates will be evaluated based on their academic credentials, leadership and activity record, and essay.
Recipients are offered a scholarship package valued at $2500 per semester for up to eight semesters. Continued scholarship eligibility is contingent upon a 3.0 GPA and service to the University through various activities. Apply here.



Scholarships Automatically Considered With Your Admission to FranUOnly incoming freshmen who have been admitted to Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady University will be considered for these scholarships. Awards may not be combined.


Presidential Scholarship

The Presidential Scholarship is awarded to 10 outstanding entering freshmen who are scholastic achievers and show promise of continuing such performance in college and beyond. The minimum criteria are:

  • High school grade point average of 3.5 or higher;

  • Composite ACT score of 23 or Composite SAT score of 1140.

The award is a scholarship package valued at the cost of half-tuition, for a maximum of eight semesters.

Dean’s Scholarship

The Dean’s Scholarship is awarded to 15 outstanding entering freshmen who are scholastic achievers. The minimum criteria are:

  • High school grade point average of 3.25 or higher;

  • Composite ACT score of 21 or Composite SAT score of 1080.

The award is a scholarship package valued at $1,500 per semester, for a maximum of eight semesters.

Catholic Advantage Scholarship

The Catholic Advantage Scholarship is awarded to 10 entering freshmen who graduated from a Catholic high school and meet the following criteria:

  • High school grade point average of 3.25 or higher;

  • Composite ACT score of 22 or Composite SAT score of 1110.

The award is a scholarship package valued at the cost of half-tuition, for a maximum of eight semesters.

Tau Transfer Scholarship

The Tau Transfer Scholarship is awarded to 12 transfer students who are collegiate scholastic achievers and meet the following criteria:

  • University grade point average of 3.0 or higher;

  • 24 or more transfer credits.

The award is a scholarship package valued at the cost of half-tuition, for a maximum of six semesters.

Scholarships for Graduate Students

Aside from scholarships for incoming freshmen students, there are also scholarship opportunities for graduate students or students enrolling in specific programs.

Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady Sisters Graduate Scholarship

Through support from the Louisiana State Board of Regents and Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center, the FMOL Sisters Graduate Scholarship is awarded to FranU graduate students to help offset their educational expenses.

Registered Behavior Technician Certificate Scholarship

Thanks in part to a generous donation from the Huey and Angelina Wilson Foundation, the RBT Scholarship is available to students enrolled in the Registered Behavior Technician Certificate program on a first come, first served basis. There are additional eligibility requirements for this scholarship.
