This course introduces basic information regarding the profession of medical laboratory science as a career choice. Emphasis is placed on professional behaviors inherent to providing
health care. Topics include use of professional literature, communication skills, teamwork, diversity, confidentiality, professional ethics, and current professional issues. The course also introduces students to the basics of safety, infection control, and hazard preparation.
