Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady University was selected as a 2022 Impact Award winner in the Student Experience category by Ellucian, the leading higher education technology solutions provider.
The annual Impact Awards celebrate visionaries in higher education who inspire others to push the boundaries of technology and innovation. FranU is one among eight institutions honored with this award and will receive a $25,000 grant as a winner.
The Student Experience category celebrates the work higher education institutions are accomplishing in support of evolving student needs and diversity among the student population, recognizing technology impacts on the student experience, FranU working with technology provider Ellucian using CRM Advise application in the Advising Department to improve student retention and graduation rates. For example, FranU has seen freshman retention rates increase from 64% (2017-18) to 74% (2019-20), with the current overall retention rate being at 90% from 2021 fall to 2022 spring.
FranU received the 2022 Impact Award during the annual Ellucian conference in Denver, CO.
“My heart is full when I see students fulfilling their callings, doing what they are passionate about and enjoying their careers, especially knowing that I helped them get there in some capacity. Receiving the Ellucian Impact Award adds to that fulfillment because it shows that we are, first, equipping and preparing our next generation of servant leaders in a strategically good way. Second, it sheds light on our best practices so that others can use what we do and positively impact the students on their campus. Our wins come when we help others win, including students and fellow laborers,” said Dr. Aubry Turner, FranU staff member.
Ellucian President and CEO Laura Ipsen said that for a private university with most of its financial stability being dependent on student tuition, she believes that their efforts do speak to a “best practice” method that other institutions of Higher Education can benefit student outcomes.
