FranU held its first ever Franciscan Circles on April 30 to share fellowship and for participants to learn about The Franciscan Experience Summer Institute.

The event hosted by Patrick Witty was held at Saint Mary of False River Parish Hall in New Roads, LA, with the attendance of 30 community members who support faith and formation of youth programs within the diocese of Baton Rouge.

A Mass was held before the event with Rev. Chris Decker as Celebrant. Presentations were given by President Dr. Tina Holland and Tyler Trahan, director of TFE. Catering was provided by Morel’s Restaurant.

The Franciscan Experience Summer Institute is a six-day overnight summer retreat that unites theological formation, service in the community and participation in liturgical and personal prayer to assist participants in their own vocational discernment. The annual program is open to rising high school juniors and seniors and takes place in July.
