Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady University complies with the 1973 Rehabilitation Act, Section 504, the 1990 Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and the 2008 Americans with Disabilities Act Amendment Act (ADAAA) to ensure equal opportunity for qualified individuals with disabilities.

ADAAA Definition of Disability
The Americans with Disabilities act (ADA) and the Americans with Disabilities Act Amendment Act (ADAAA) has a three-part definition of disability. Under ADA, an individual with a disability is a person who: (1) has a physical or mental impairment that substantially limits one or more major life activities; or (2) has a record of such impairment; or (3) is regarded as having such an impairment.

Reasonable Accommodations will be made for qualified students with disabilities. Accommodations that are not classified as reasonable are as follows: (1) Any accommodation that poses a direct threat to the health and safety of others; (2) Any accommodation that makes a substantial change in an essential element of the curriculum or a substantial change in the way you provide your services; (3) Any accommodation that imposes an undue financial or administrative burden on the University. Accommodation(s) requests can be made by contacting the Office of Student Affairs at 225-526-1620 and scheduling an appointment with the Academic Counselor.
