Dual Enrollment and Early Admission

The Dual Enrollment Program and Early Admission Program is especially designed for high school students who demonstrate the maturity and scholastic ability to be successful in college work.

Dual Enrollment

Minimum requirements:

  • Be in the 11th or 12th grade
  • Cumulative high school GPA of ≥ 2.5 (transcript must be provided)
  • Have an ACT/Pre-ACT composite ≥ 19, ASPIRE composite ≥ 430 or SAT/Pre-SAT composite ≥ 990 (ACCUPLACER, COMPASS, and ALEKS scores are listed below)
  • If the ACT is taken in the 10th grade or higher grade, the ACT scores MUST be used for eligibility
  • Recommendation for enrollment by the high school principal or counselor
  • If homeschooled, a recommendation letter from the director of the co-op program, an employer, a coach or an adviser from an extracurricular activity

In addition to the requirements listed above, students must also meet the following course-specific criteria in order to enroll in that course (see table for minimum scores):

  • With the criteria above and a minimum English sub-score students can take the following:
    • English, History, Psychology, Sociology, Spanish, and Theology courses
  • With the criteria above and a minimum Math sub-score students can take the following:
    • Math, Chemistry, and Biology

Course offerings are subject to availability.

Student may earn a maximum of 30 hours in dual enrollment credit.

Tuition for dual enrollment is at a discounted rate of $150 per 3 credit hours. Students admitted to this program are subject to the fees, rules, and regulations as other FranU students. A student enrolled simultaneously at the University and a high school is subject to any rules and regulations imposed by that high school.

Early Admission

The Early Admission Program permits an academically-outstanding high school student to forego their senior year and receive a high school diploma by completing 24 semester hours at FranU.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Letter of recommendation from the high school principal
  • A six-semester high school transcript with a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale) in all high school courses
  • A minimum 25 ACT composite score or 1210 SAT score
  • Proof of immunization prior to registration

After 24 semester hours are earned:

  • FranU submits a recommendation to the high school principal for issuance of a high school diploma
  • Diploma will be awarded by the high school
  • Student is responsible for providing an official high school transcript to FranU’s Office of Admissions as verification of graduation

Students admitted to this program are subject to the same fees, rules and regulations as other FranU students. A student enrolled simultaneously at the University and a high school is subject to any rules and regulations imposed by that high school.
